We used 1and1.com many years ago. They seem to be spending more time and money on marketing their business than giving their customers quality support. We used their basic shared hosting account and that lasted for a few months because the server was always offline and we had some other technical problems.
When we send a support ticket it would take a day or more for someone to answer back to us and most of the time the problem reoccurred.
We would NOT recommend 1and1.com for lack of quality support and unreliable web hosting.
